Tasks
As a carpenter, you will use plans to craft wooden elements from solid wood or semi-finished products in the workshop. On the construction site – often at lofty heights – you will assemble these individual parts together with your teammates.
Training to become a carpenter takes four years. You will learn the theoretical basics one day a week at vocational school. Here at Erlenhof, we will provide you with practical training. In addition to vocational school and your apprenticeship, experts will teach you further practical professional knowledge in inter-company courses lasting several days.
Requirements
Are you free from vertigo, mathematically inclined and enjoy working outdoors? If you also have the following skills, then you have what it takes to be a carpenter:
- Interest in geometry, physics and mathematics
- Technical understanding
- Spatial awareness
- Manual dexterity
- Precise and focused approach to working in a team
- No fear of heights, agile, strong, healthy
- Enjoy working with wood, building and constructing
