Head of Systems Engineering
Area of responsibility:
- Lead and develop a high-performing R&D team consisting of systems engineers and optical engineers, fostering a collaborative and agile work environment.
- Drive innovation by identifying technology trends and proposing strategic projects in optical measurement technologies, particularly for IVD applications.
- Oversee and manage multidisciplinary projects, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards such as ISO 13485 and IVDR, and meeting project timelines.
- Develop, implement, and maintain engineering standards while contributing to reusable assets that enhance project efficiency.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication to ensure successful project execution.
- Mentor and coach team members to support their professional growth and skill development.
- Occasional travel (up to 10%).
Who we are looking for:
- A university degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in developing complex, multidisciplinary systems, with a strong focus on optical systems and their development is a must!
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role, managing a team of engineers.
- Proven experience working within regulatory environments, with exposure to ISO 13485, IVDR, or similar standards is also a must requirement.
- A solid track record of successful project or team leadership, particularly in the development of optical systems.
- Previous experience in the OEM, IVD, or life sciences industries is highly desirable.
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
- Excellent coaching, mentoring, and team-building abilities.
