As Finance & Accounting Manager , you will support Volpi’s accounting activities in Switzerland, helping ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient finance processes.
You will work closely with the Swiss accounting team and management, providing hands-on support, coordination, and subject-matter expertise across key accounting and finance topics.
In addition, you will act as a coordination partner for the US accounting function, supporting collaboration, knowledge sharing, process alignment, and selected cross-border finance activities between Switzerland and the US.
- Lead and manage the day-to-day accounting activities in Switzerland, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes and prepare and review statutory and management financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with the Swiss Code of Obligations, applicable tax requirements, and internal policies and controls.
- Manage and further develop the Swiss accounting team, promoting ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate external audits and act as a key contact for auditors, tax advisors, authorities, and other external finance partners.
- Support group consolidation, intercompany accounting, and cross-border financial processes.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, treasury, and working capital management.
- Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes, internal controls, reporting, and finance systems.
- Support ERP and reporting system enhancements, particularly within SAP Business ByDesign.
- Oversee Swiss and international tax matters, including VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing, and cross-border transactions.
- Coordinate external tax advisors and support tax audits and regulatory reviews.
- Oversee customs and trade compliance, including import/export documentation, tariff classifications, customs declarations, and collaboration with customs brokers.
- Monitor relevant developments in international trade, tariffs, customs, and tax regulations and assess their financial impact on the business.
- Identify opportunities to optimize customs duties, indirect taxes, and cross-border transactions while maintaining full compliance.
- Act as an additional finance contact and deputy for the US accounting function, supporting selected activities and coordinating tax, accounting, and customs topics between the Swiss headquarters and US operations.
