Applications Team Lead
Nanosurf is a fast-growing innovator in the nanotechnology market. We develop, manufacture and market state-of-the-art scanning probe microscopes for imaging and manipulation of surfaces at the nanometer range. We work at the limit of what is physically possible and develop all the mechanical, electronic, optical and software components necessary for best-in-class instruments.
In line with our company's growth and in response to market demands, we are expanding our Applications team. This team is responsible for providing pre- and post-sales applications support and is heavily involved in development processes.
We are seeking an experienced Application Scientist to lead our team of Application Scientists. As a Team Leader, you will supervise a team of application scientists and actively participate in the tasks of the applications team.
The role
- Lead, coordinate, and develop the Applications team.
- Support the team in solving problems and optimizing processes.
- Plan and execute projects to develop market-relevant applications.
- Collaborate with and support other departments (Sales, Development, Marketing, Product Management).
- Perform system installations and customer training.
- Provide post-sales application support to customers.
- Participate in and support internal development discussions.
- Test new products and features.
- Modify user manuals and training materials in English.
- Communicate on-site with customers and partners.
- Visit customers and partners.
- Participate in conferences, exhibitions, and trade fairs.
Your profile
- Possession of a PhD degree in Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
- More than 7 years of professional, hands-on experience with high-end atomic force microscopy.
- Several years of experience with AFM in a semiconductor industry-related environment.
- Proven experience in leading and motivating teams.
- Strong understanding of AFM applications in life and materials science.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in English; good German skills are a plus.
- Demonstrated result-oriented and practical thinking and acting. In addition to possessing the skills required for the operation and setup of complex measurement instruments, you are capable of quickly understanding and addressing customer needs.
- Mobility and flexibility to visit customer sites for system installations and training sessions, as well as attend conferences and trade shows.
- A valid driver’s license is a plus.
