ISUres Summer University 2025
The ISUenergy 2025 is a collaborative academic programme of EELISA-Universities, ZHAW and the association ISUres and is open to students supported by EELISA as well as to other students outside EELISA universities.
24th August - 5th September 2025
From 24th August - 5th September 2025, high in the Swiss Alps, in the midst of nature, in the unspoilt mountain village of Falera, a setting is being created for informal discussions on the future of energy in the world. Students from different countries will share their views, approaches and new ideas, and make lasting contacts interdisciplinary with students and speakers worldwide.
The ISUenergy 2025 will cover a wide spectrum from the fundamentals of technologies an their development to the industrialisation of component production as well as the realisation of sustainable energy systems to the political framework conditions. This allows for a holistic view of the complex interrelationships involved in succeeding or failing in the energy transition to a sustainable economy.
Teaching methodologies are lectures in the mornings and hands-on labs with experiments and group work in the afternoons, there is plenty of room for the exchange of ideas and the discovery of exciting new research approaches or economic models.
Target groups are students coming from engineering disciplines such as systems engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, energy and environmental engineering, mechanical engineering and architecture, but also physics, chemistry, process engineering, computer science, economics and political science. Bachelor's, Master's and PhD students are all welcome.
In addition, we issue a final certificate of attendance and award 4 ECTS credits, if the final exam and the group project presentation are successful. Continuous attendance in full-time during the course days is compulsory!
Registration procedure
The application for 2025 is open now until 28th June 2025.
Selection criteria
The criteria for acceptance of your application are:
- registered bachelor's or master's student or doctoral candidate;
- academic achievements to date;
- short statement of motivation for participation;
- knowledge of English.
Nomination
- After we receive your online application, we will start reviewing it within three days. If we have any further questions, we will contact you by email at short notice.
- We will also keep you informed of the status of your nomination by email within two weeks. If you do not receive an email, please request it again and check your spam folder.
- Registration: If you have received a nomination offer and wish to accept, please send us an e-mail confirmation within one week, together with a scanned and signed copy of our waiver of liability.
Payment of participation fee
- The participation fee is to be transferred to the account of the ISUres within one month of your nomination.
- Please send a confirmation of your transaction by email at the same time.
- Lunch, accommodation: The costs for lunch during the tuition and accommodation from 24th August 2025 - 6th September 2025 are included in the participation fee. Dinner will be organised individually, e.g. at the accommodation.
- Confirmation of participation: After the complete registration process has been successfully completed, we will send you a confirmation letter and prepare everything for your time at the event location in Falera.
