As part of our continued growth, we are currently looking for a new colleague to join us in the role of
Manufacturing Process Engineer 100%
at our US office in Auburn, NY (USA). In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply your expertise in optical engineering to the development of innovative opto-mechatronic systems, making a significant impact on the future of diagnostics and life sciences.
What you can expect:
Responsible for the development and support of manufacturing processes. Perform equipment validations and design transfer activities for new product introductions.
- Collaborate with design engineers, suppliers, production personnel, and contract manufacturers to develop, support, and continuously improve manufacturing processes.
- Utilize CAD and CAM systems, including SolidWorks, to create and improve custom tools and fixtures.
- Develop and document manufacturing processes using MS Office applications, CAD models, and SolidWorks Composer animation program.
- Support process and equipment transfer and validations in accordance with FDA cGMP and ISO 13485 requirements.
- Monitor test data and metrics for statistical process controls (SPC) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Apply lean manufacturing concepts to analyze and enhance manufacturing and test process flows for quality, cost reduction, and throughput improvements.
- Investigate and document product/process non-conformances, determine root cause, and recommend corrective actions.
- Participate in customer meetings, reviews, and audits as needed, providing data and assessments on products.
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Hands-on experience with FDM 3D printing
- Relevant experience in a regulated manufacturing environment preferred, such as medical device or automotive industries. 1-5 years of experience desired, including internships and co-op time.
- Experience with CAD, CAM applications; SolidWorks preferred.
- Demonstrated ability using Lean Six Sigma methodologies; Green Belt training and/or certification preferred.
- collaboration with our team in Switzerland.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel to customers and suppliers (up to ~10% required).
